How to Make the Best Bulletproof Coffee

Rise and shine! You’re in for a treat. Coffee is good but, did you know that it can be better and healthier? Introducing bulletproof coffee.

There have been tons of alterations and experiments regarding its recipe. However, these so-called “enhancements” have made the bulletproof coffee unique and incredibly versatile.

Bulletproof coffee is packed with healthy fats plus its Keto and Paleo-friendly.

What is a Bulletproof Coffee?

Bulletproof coffee is just a usual coffee infused with butter, but not just any type of butter, it must be grass-fed butter. And, for someone who hasn’t tried it, it will honestly sound weird. But did you know that it is packed with nutrients that will highly impact your energy level and cognitive functions?

It was first discovered in Tibet by Dave Asprey. He was amazed by the yak butter tree’s transformative powers and wanted to re-create the ever famous Tibetan tea.

However, he tried experimenting with it until he had the idea of mixing it with high healthy saturated fats such as grass-fed butter, MCT oil, or ghee with a cup of hot coffee.

The Benefits

Bulletproof coffee is now popular for its health benefits; in fact, most people switch to drinking bulletproof coffee in the morning instead of having the average cup of coffee.

Since its primary ingredient is coffee, this drink is packed with antioxidants that help remove toxins in your body and fights diseases and it’s also an excellent anti-aging remedy.

Plus, MCT oil is a type of fat that requires less energy and fewer enzymes to break down which is good for digestion, unlike the usual creamer and sugar. It is also good for your gut since it has anti-microbial properties.

It is rich in healthy fats and carbohydrates which are essential for an added energy boost. But, unlike the usual cup of coffee, you wouldn’t feel a sudden energy crash.

Healthy fats from MCT oil are an excellent aid for food cravings. This is why bulletproof coffee is also a healthy drink for weight loss.

It is also one of the perfect drinks for people who are trying the Ketogenic Diet since Keto Diets usually consist of low-carb, no sugar, and high in healthy fat.

Bulletproof coffee is very tasty and creamy, just like your usual cappuccino or latte, but healthier!

It helps to stabilize blood sugar levels while keeping your mind sharp and focused. Which makes it perfect for people who are always on the go.

How to make your very own Bulletproof Coffee

You don’t need to spend a lot of money when making your very own bulletproof coffee, and it is also not difficult to make.

First, you need these three main ingredients:

  • High-quality coffee, preferably organic
  • Organic or non-organic grass-fed butter
  • MCT oil which is high in C8’s / Organic coconut oil

It is better to opt for high-quality coffee beans instead of purchasing the cheapest ones as your base for your BCP. For it tastes better and you will have a lower risk of encountering microscopic molds in your coffee bean.

When it comes to butter, you cannot opt for other types of butter other than grass-fed ones because it’s the only type of butter that works well with bulletproof coffee. Plus, other types of butter do not contain high omega fatty acids which are essential for brain function.

MCT (medium-chain triglycerides) oil aides for enhancing metabolism. However, most people use coconut oil which is also good since it is packed with its health benefits. But, in my opinion, MCT oil is the better choice for your bulletproof coffee mixture.

Recipe

  1. Brew 2 cups or more cups (depending on the number of people drinking it) of hot water with coffee.
  2. Get a slice or two of butter.
  3. 1 to 2 teaspoons of organic coconut oil or MCT oil.
  4. Add your additional/optional ingredients such as cinnamon or cocoa powder
  5. Then blend it together until it’s smooth and creamy! Voila! Now you have your very own bulletproof coffee.
